What a big girl!
Wow! What a difference 9 months makes. Here's Lily in her ice cream hat, with the first picture taken at 3 weeks old and the second taken at 9 months. She's growing so fast!!

It's Official
It's official. I am the worst Mommy blogger ever. I had every intention of posting regularly, but time has just gotten away.
Last time I posted Lily was hiccupping a lot and mainly sleeping, eating and filling diapers. We were still pretty new at the congenital hypothyroidism thing and new at parenting all together. Fast forward to August and we have a busy, inquisitive, babbling and super social 9 month-old on our hands.
Lily has the ability to light up every room she enters with her smiles, her pageant waves and her sunny disposition. She laughs at perfect strangers to get their attention and loves watching people and dogs. She's been making lots of new sounds, saying Mama, Dada (very clearly at Doug for the first time today!) and baba (bottle) for all the important things in life. She loves eating and has not mastered the word "more." We do, however, know the exact grunt that means "more" and we know when to keep the food coming. She loves cheesy quesadillas, avocado, sweet potatoes, ground up steak and especially ice cream. We know it's not good for her, but no person with a soul could deny this child ice cream when she gives you the begging eyes. She has all the confidence in the world and we hope and pray that never changes.
She's had a year full of milestones and firsts. There has been the regular stuff: rolling over, smiling, laughing, eating solids, waving hi and bye, lifting her head, none of that in that particular order. She has also had her first vacation Bible school, vacation, hotel stay, watermelon, dip in a swimming pool, bruise on her head :(, snort laugh, cowboy boots, trip to the Alamo...just saying we've tried to hit all the important things.
At 9 months she is 27 inches tall (50th percentile), 20 lbs., 12 oz. (90th percentile) and her head is a little bigger than average int he 97th percentile. She is perfect in every way! She takes her thyroid replacement every morning like a champ and is growing and developing right on target.
She can't say much right now, but she is already running the show. She has officially moved into our bed and it doesn't look like she's ever getting out. She has us wrapped around her little finger ten times over, but she does know what the word "No" means so we hope we're doing our jobs. :-) We'll just keep praying for wisdom and for the beautiful young lady Lily is sooo quickly becoming.
Here are some pictures from the last 8 months counting down from now to the last time I actually posted something and I hope to be checking in more regularly from here on out. :-)
